Don't think it's filler at all- despite everything else he's done, this is the first time I've actually gone "Wow, Don is a shithead".
Plus, the return of Glen the super creep (played by Matthew Weiner's son?!), now actually able to relate to Sally and probably going to drag her into some weird shit.
And for all SCDP's posturing about being a new agency not doing things the old fashioned way and Don refusing to bend to the will of clients... when it comes down to it, it's still about what Lee Garner Jr (another shithead, though that's not a new opinion on my part) wants. _________________

NORA ZEHETNER HOLY SHIT YES. love her from "brick"
also don is falling apart so much it's great
i don't see the "shithead" aspect on this, at least not compared to other stuff he's done. i guess back then though that sort of thing was more as seen of being a "i'm interested in you" thing? i dunno whatever. i like more the fact he's just a trainwreck outside of the office and it's starting to pour over

Well, at least in the past he's had the sense to not sleep with anyone from the office, for one thing. He used to make decisions knowing what he was doing, but at this point he's just way out of it acting stupidly on impulse, in this case taking advantage of someone who clearly cares about him. And while WE know that he probably feels bad about making a mistake the next day, instead of expressing that to her in any way he just tries to make it go away (as usual), acting like an asshole in the process (cash? really?). _________________

yeah the bonus was kind of a "i'll leave it on the nightstand" sort of move i will say.
at the same time, she can see he's obviously like self destructing at this point, not that it excuses his behavior, but i'd imagine she might be able to see that? as opposed to say, pete wanting peggy simply because it's about a dominance thing? _________________ all for some, none for all.

I'm sure she can see that- given that she seems to understand him about as well as anyone, except maybe Peggy- but it would still hurt on a personal level. It looks like she's typing a resignation letter at the end, but then she looks off in the distance like she's not paying attention to what she's doing and she appears (not making eye contact) in the preview for next week. _________________

Really, really good episode tonight. The first half was really depressing, but I laughed quite a lot the second half. Who knew Lane could actually be funny? _________________

there was just so much.... stuff in this episode. I kinda wished I would have watched the encore to digest everything. I know it's really early to say this, but season 4 has been the best so far. _________________
