Office 2007 beta up for download

The beta is not final and should not be used for business-critical work," says Microsoft.

You can also take a one hour course on the new user interface. There are more than a dozen courses availale at the 2007 Microsoft Office - Learning Portal.

That's a damn shame. I'd've been happy to have had a go at this because it looks interesting but I've only got Windows 2000 Pro and the beta requires XP. Not worth the hassle of up(?)grading, I'm afraid.

I've just taken the plunge and installed the full suite of Office 2007 applications and, despite a steepish learning curve for the 'ribbon' feature, my initial reaction is extremely favourable! Microsoft Onenote is now set to become a permanent tool..try it!

I had a look at this last night and I think it's cool. What happens though with the Beta version on MS release the official one does it lock out?

I really like the way the file menu ect (needs some getting uused to), is set out in word and it's toolbars appears more intuitive to get what you want.

Outlook also is good and may finally replace thunderbird. Much clearer in design and presentation than earlier versions.

I'm tempted to go for this beta, despite my cries of "don't do it because you can seriously mess up your computer". Also tempted by the messenger live beta.
