Leeds Student

A site for a local student newspaper. Backend features some rather nifty javascript allowing users to select multiple authors for articles, Facebook style, by simply typing their names into an autoselect box.

Other cool features are mini YouTube embedded clips and audio files, and Facebook Connect integration, allowing users to use their Facebook accounts to sign in to the site and comment on articles, removing the hassle of yet another registration. Simple!

I also went to painstaking lengths to make article URLs look attractive, in the form of section/category/articlename.html - partly for SEO purposes, and partly because I was sick of seeing article.php?id=12535. A few lines of .htaccess later and some relative path tweaks and the deed was done.
